Targeting Significant Mineralisation Within a Highly Prospective Au–Cu Belt
FDR’s 100%-owned Wallal copper–gold project is located in the north of Western Australia’s Paterson Province. Covering 572 km², Wallal represents the Company’s principal focus in the region.
The project is of particular interest due to multiple compelling geophysical anomalies identified through an extensive technical review. This work included the reprocessing of historical seismic datasets and detailed analysis of legacy magnetic and gravity survey data, significantly enhancing the geological understanding and highlighting the project’s potential to host major mineralised systems.
Wallal Project Highlights
- 100% owned, covering a large 572 km² land package within the prolific Paterson Province.
- Desktop studies have identified multiple large-scale magnetic highs beneath cover, indicating potential geological similarities to the nearby Havieron deposit (Greatland Resources plc).
- The project area shares an extensive licence boundary with Rio Tinto Exploration, further reinforcing the region’s prospectivity.

An under-explored region with exceptional exploration potential.
The Western Australian Paterson Province is recognised as one of Australia’s most prospective regions for world-class gold–copper discoveries. It hosts several major mines and significant recent finds, including:
- Rio Tinto – North Winu: 503 Mt at 0.45% CuEq
- Greatland Resources – Havieron: 8.4 Moz AuEq
- Newmont / (formerly Greatland Resources) – Telfer: 20 Moz Au
Co-funding available from the Western Australian Government to support deep-drilling programmes at the Wallal Project, targeting highly prospective geophysical anomalies.
Targeting Geophysical Anomalies
- The Wallal Project is located approximately 240 km east of Port Hedland, with access via the Great Northern Highway.
- Three highly prospective “magnetic bullseye” targets have been identified within the Wallal Embayment. These were defined through government open-file airborne magnetic and ground gravity datasets, as well as the reprocessing of historical seismic data.
- The anomalies exhibit magnetic signatures comparable to the Havieron copper–gold discovery, with the Wallal Eastern anomaly showing an amplitude of approximately 100 nT, relative to 80 nT at Havieron.
- Geological and structural characteristics also show similarities to Rio Tinto’s Winu Cu–Au deposit, with Wallal’s magnetic targets located on the margin of the Wallal Embayment — a structurally favourable position for the development of copper–gold systems.
- These direct comparisons — geophysical parallels with Havieron and geological similarities to Winu — strongly support the prospectivity of the multiple magnetic anomalies defined at Wallal.
